| Check out some of my informal recordings (in roughly chronological order newest to oldest):
'Jingle Bell Rock' I helped record this little Xmas Gift for Cassidy Gerken. Pickle had asked me to come down to his studio (Cider Hill Recording) to add some guitar parts for a CD that his 10 year old daughter wanted to be able to give to her family on Christmas morning. Well, needless to say the holidays and Syracuse's beautiful weather got in the way... so Plan B! Pickle and I experimented at the last minute (the days before mixing) and found that we could exchange files via e-mail. I proceeded to break out the POD again, and quickly recorded some tracks for experimental purposes, and e-mailed those to him. I played over a scratch track, and then layered a few other tracks for Pickle to choose from. Over a couple of days, I recorded several test tracks for Pickle to choose from, mostly done in under an hour, and with the Melancon and POD 2.0 - well, it was last minute! Cassidy sings and plays the flute solo (she's been playing flute since September!)

'Hunka Bells' I also helped record this little Xmas Gift for Cassidy Gerken. Done in under an hour, also with the Melancon and POD 2.0.

The song 'Out Tonight' from the Broadway show, RENT. An old friend needed someone to re-create the flavor of the RENT tune for a demo - a client wanted to demonstrate her pipes for her future possible Broadway debut! I played my Edwards LP into a POD 2.0, direct into the console. I did one of the rhythm parts first, added a second, and overdubbed the two-guitar 'solo' parts next. It went down in about an hour total.

The instrumental 'Random' was cut direct to a MacBook using GarageBand and a loop created by Red Ant over at TGP. I played my Edwards LP into a POD 2.0, thru an iMic interface into GarageBand (iLife 08). I did a few intro overdubs, then improviused the solo... it was just a way to experiment with the tools, and lay out a bit on the guitar too! The base tune is Home At Last, by Steely Dan.

'Twisted Roads' and '424' were recorded in early 2005. I played fills and solos on both cuts using my Melancon Pro T, with a Seymour Duncan JB bridge pickup, and two custom Melancon single-coil pups while using a Line 6 POD, v2.0 direct! Both were done in one or two takes, with my work simply added as overdubs to existing material in a basement studio in Liverpool, NY.

A couple of Live tunes from my stint with Prime Time. During my 2.5 years with this group we won TWO Sammy Awards for Best Live Band. Another group of talented guys - a lot of fun, and a LOT of dates - over 110 in my last year, while holding down an out-of-town full-time job! Recorded live at Armory High (Styleen's) September 15, 2000 by Chris Paisley

This set of tunes was recorded in 1994 as a Demo, with a group that I still miss - Royal Scam. We put together a group of talented musicians to play the music of Steely Dan - not a tribute band in the usual sense other than the music had to be the best we could reproduce. The band was together for about 3.5 years. Somehwere around 2000 I was able to put a copy of this demo into Roger Nichols hands at an SD concert in Cincinnati! The band must have been doing something right as we we're contacted at a gig by another Tribute band in the NYC area - they wanted us to stop using the name Royal Scam! Maybe they were afraid they'd have to be just a little better?

The instrumental 'Chuck Side of the Moon' was cut direct to a 4-track cassette recorder. This song was written and recorded by Chuck Loggia in NJ, probaby around 1986 with Chuck on Keyboards/Sound effects while I used a Hamer and my Mesa Boogie Mark II to add some violin-swelling guitar overdubs!

'Casino' is an instrumental written by a great bass player, and friend Greeley Ford. I played chorused rhythm, solo and melody on 'Casino', probably through a Rockman! The song was recorded in 1980 onto a boombox cassette, with Greeley on bass, Lenny Milano on drums and Paul Angerosa on dry rhythm guitar - what a great 'backing band' eh? I used this recording to open some doors in NYC when I moved there in 1981!

I'll be adding some more 'gems' soon!
